H1Z1 has the top viewership on Twitch.tv but is is worth it? So far the game footage I have seen it looks eerily similar to DayZ and it looks like it attracts the same crowd. However both DayZ and H1Z1 are both in some form of beta/alpha stages of game play and that is not good for customers of gaming software. Bugs, game play problems and the history of developers abandoning games are well documented. So how will these games set them selves apart? I for one only buy games that have been well out for over a year unless it’s predecessor has escalated above and beyond the rest of the genre. I do this for two reasons. One I am a cheap prick and the second because I have been beat by the developers releasing games too early (Contagion/Monochrome Inc., which they have done a good job at finishing I have to add, as well as Nazi Zombie Army 1 & 2 which really was never a game, just a beta release of the Trilogy, thanks Rebellion) and not being done only to find out that they indeed will be abandoning the game.
So far both games have been having success as I have not heard anything negative about them. The developers (Bohemia Interactive and Daybreak Games ) you should remember their names as they might be a developer we will need to keep an eye on in the coming years to see how their early releases are. If the developer is transparent and you do not mind developers working on Steam time, then you will be happy with your purchase. Steam time as it is called is the difference between just any game and a Great Game. Personally I want the developers to take their time and make a Great Game. Especially one that has a ton of replayability.
To me, replayability is the most important part of purchasing a game.
